Yucatan Peninsula: Land of the Ancient and Contemporary Maya
Journey through the heart of Maya civilization on this immersive cultural expedition combining archaeological discovery, colonial heritage, and natural wonders. Travel aboard the newly inaugurated Maya Train through the Yucatan Peninsula, exploring renowned sites like Palenque's Classic-period ruins, the remote Calakmul Biosphere Reserve with its uninterrupted jungle horizons, and the spectacular Rio Bec architecture featuring some of Mesoamerica's best-preserved Early Classic stucco friezes (AD 300-600). Experience the living Maya culture in vibrant colonial cities, hike through tropical forests teeming with native wildlife, and trace ancient sacbes (Maya roads) connecting ceremonial centers. The journey concludes along the turquoise Caribbean coast, blending archaeological wonder with natural beauty—from flamingo-filled lagoons to pristine beaches—offering a comprehensive encounter with both ancient Maya achievements and contemporary Yucatecan life.

Foods, Fiestas, and Frida: A Celebration of Life in Mexico
Experience Mexico's rich cultural tapestry through its most beloved traditions, revolutionary history, and artistic legacy. Delve into the intertwined lives of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera through visits to their studio homes and the Brady Museum's exceptional folk art collection featuring Kahlo's self-portrait. Trace Mexico's revolutionary heritage along the route of Emiliano Zapata, visiting his birthplace and exploring the historic sites of both the 1810 War of Independence and the 1910 Revolution. Explore colonial treasures like Taxco's silver district and the magnificent Church of Santa Prisca, discover the astronomical significance of Xochicalco's pre-Hispanic ruins, and enjoy hands-on experiences including a cooking class using recipes from Frida Kahlo's own cookbook. From picnics at the Aztec floating gardens of Xochimilco to discussions of Day of the Dead traditions in village cemeteries, this program offers an intimate celebration of Mexican culture, history, cuisine, and the enduring artistic spirit that defines this remarkable nation.

High School Cultural Immersion Programs
Designed specifically for high school students, our immersive programs combine daily Spanish language classes with hands-on cultural exploration and authentic homestay experiences. Students spend mornings in language instruction at Cemanahuac, then venture out to discover Mexico's rich heritage through guided excursions to world-renowned archaeological sites including Teotihuacan—the ancient "City of the Gods"—and Xochicalco with its ball courts. Beyond the classroom, students climb to mountaintop pyramids in magical pueblos like Tepoztlán, explore the floating gardens of Xochimilco, discover colonial silver-mining towns like Taxco, swim in the colonial era pools in Temixco, and experience vibrant Mexico City landmarks including the Aztec Temple and Diego Rivera's murals at the National Palace. Living with carefully selected host families, students practice their Spanish daily over home-cooked meals, gaining genuine insight into Mexican family life and traditions.
